Welcome to Leaves on the Water, an AU Naruto fanfic world that deviates during episode 135 of the anime, while occasionally borrowing elements of the canon revealed after that point.

Author's Note : Preface to the LNU

The predominant "water" theme came from the working titles of the first few ideas, and then became a way to tie everything together...although my usual tradition of using song lyrics still sneaks through in places. Which is fitting, since the LNU was originally called the "living" fic, inspired jointly by a line from the Buffy musical episode
("Life isn't bliss; life's simply this. It's living") and from a Blink 182 song ("Well, I guess this is growing up...")

Organization: Stories with "Bold" titles are part of the present-day chronology; those with "Italicized" titles are either stories from an earlier point in the timeline, or time-elapse pieces that work better as stand-alones rather than as flashbacks.

Also: Pretty much all of these stories are works in progress, including the posted bits. This will be obvious in places where there are the equivalent of [STUFF GOES HERE] tags, and the fact that some parts lack both a start and an end. I wouldn't do this if this wasn't my personal site, and nothing is going to be posted to "public" forums until I feel it is ready. (Which may be never, hence wanting to show what progress there is so far.)
