Gathering-Related Contests
Winners get free stuff!

..................................................Name the Mascot
Our young wave-surfing mascot needs a name, and you could be the one to provide it! A full-sized image of him can be found HERE. Lynati designed him; isn’t he cute? The staff will choose from the names entered, and the winner will be awarded a brand new Happycake Oven. The contest deadline is October 15, 2020.

.......................................................Design this year’s T-Shirt
Every year, the Gathering sells T-shirts to raise money, and traditionally a contest is opened to the fans to create the graphic for it. The graphic must be Portrait-Oriented (taller than it is wide), may be full-color artwork, and can, of course, make use of this year’s mascot. Submissions must be 72 dpi, but contestants need to save a full-sized 300 dpi copy of their image for printing purposes. The deadline for this contest is December 15th, 2020

..............................................Fanwork Anthology
The Gathering is looking for both art and writing submissions for the 2021 anthology. This year’s theme is “Future Tense” - works must be set Gargoyles Universe after the year 2020. They do NOT need to based in a world where the events of the episode Future Tense happened, but they may be if the writer or artist wishes. Submissions for both art and writing must be rated PG-13 or lower.

* Written works should not exceed 5,000 words and may be submitted in .doc, .rtf, or .txt form. The formatting of written works may be altered from the original for printing.

* Artwork must be formatted to fit a 5" x 7.5" page and must be Portrait Oriented. Interior art must be black and white, or grayscale. Cover submissions may be full-color, and should include the words “Future Tense Anthology.” All artwork must be submitted in .jpg, .tif, or .bmp form. Lower resolution copies may be sent in for judging, but a 300 dpi version of the image will be required for printing.
Each contributor will receive one complimentary copy of the anthology. Contributors not present at the Gathering will be mailed their copy, so be sure to contact the staff with your mailing address if you cannot make it to the convention.

The deadline for all three aspects of the anthology contest (written, interior art, and cover art) is March 21, 2021. The Gathering of the Gargoyles continues to request that all accepted submissions to this anthology not be made available to the general public for a full year after the convention weekend, as incentive for fans to buy the anthology.

.................................................................Music Videos
The music video contest will be open until the first day of the Gathering, the winning entries for each category to be decided by fan ballot on the convention weekend. All entries will be made available for viewing in the consuite, as well as being shown immediately following the Masquerade. Any genre may be submitted for veiwing but only videos that are centered around Gargoyles are elligible for voting. Videos must be submitted in digital form on CD. Winners will receive the adulation of their peers and a coupon good for one ice cream cone at any Coldstone Creamery.
